How to update Madden tournaments with Companion, PC save files, and consistency checks.
Madden
Madden tournaments can be updated from two different sources: Companion and PC save files. The two paths complement each other, and the system checks that they belong to the same tournament.
When Companion and the PC file match, you can safely use both sources to keep the tournament, roster, calendar, and diagnostics aligned.
The two available sources
Update through Companion
Use the Madden tournament URL and paste it into Companion. From that moment on, the data reaches the system and is organized to update the tournament.
Update through PC
Upload a franchise/save file from Madden 27 directly from the tournament manager. The parser extracts the season, teams, roster, standings, and calendar even without an active Companion connection.
A clearer Madden Update
The Madden Update tab now guides staff from data receipt to the right recovery action.
- An immediate summary shows the update status while the Companion URL remains visible.
- Collapsible sections use badges to show where staff attention is needed.
- Companion export errors are separated from processing errors, so staff know whether to export again or retry in Ranko.
- A row-level recovery action is available when already received data can be processed again.
- Roster and Free Agent panels show real counts and the latest received time.
- Future or unplayed weeks are no longer reported as problems.
- Automatic refresh runs only while processing is active, keeping the page lighter and more responsive.
Madden Draft Board
Open the Draft Board for a tournament where you have an assigned team. Select 1 to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images, up to 8 MB each, including different players. AI groups the screenshots by player; review the cards and confirm them together. You can complete a card with new photos in later weeks.
- A ? means Madden has not revealed that value yet. AI leaves it blank instead of guessing. When later weeks reveal more data, upload the new screenshots, even alongside other players’ photos. Review the suggested name, position and values; choose to update the existing player when they match. New values fill blank fields, while saved values stay unchanged. Each newly analyzed image uses one credit.
- The Shop offers 100 images for €5 with 5,000 Ranko Points, or 300 images for €10 with 15,000 Ranko Points. You can buy either pack repeatedly; each purchase adds its images and points.
- Yes. Images belong to your account, add up across purchases and remain available in future tournaments. Upload 1 to 20 together, even for different players. Each analyzed image uses one credit; player lists stay separate by tournament.
- You can save at least 25 players per list. Image packs gradually increase the space according to the number of images purchased, up to 250 players per tournament. An active plan allows up to 250 players per list. Your remaining image balance can also be used in future tournaments.
Transactions and trades
Ranko manages trades, signings, releases and retirements in one flow and publishes only official movements.
Coach confirmation
Involved coaches confirm, dispute or request a correction from Invites and requests.
Staff review
Staff can correct the movement type, complete a trade, publish it or void it.
Publication
Confirmed movements appear in Transactions and keep rosters and Free Agents consistent.
NFL teams and club identity
The manager first assigns the NFL team to use in Madden. If the tournament uses FIDAF teams or another catalog, they can then choose the name and logo shown in the app.
Logos from other federations
In the manager Division tab, choose one or more catalogs, browse the gallery and assign an override. Owners and staff can edit it with any active plan; the NFL catalog is always available.
Join a Division
The participant is placed in their Division, such as AFC East.
Receive an NFL team
The manager selects one of the four NFL teams in that Division. Each NFL team can belong to only one participant.
Add an alternate identity
The manager may assign a FIDAF team or another catalog identity. Its name and logo replace the NFL identity on public pages and may be shared by multiple participants.
Check which team to use
The NFL abbreviation remains visible and tells you which team to select in Madden when no custom team exists.
Play without Companion
The provisional schedule is a complete organisational alternative until EA official data becomes available.
Provisional schedule
Yes. Add, edit or remove every game and publish one week at a time; calendar events, posts and agreement cards use the existing automations.
Seasons and matchups
The starting year is editable. Choose users assigned to teams: each user can appear in only one game per week and is removed from the other selectors.
Results and standings
Yes. Players and staff can submit the required evidence; staff confirms the result, updates standings and playoffs, and can complete the Super Bowl.
When Companion arrives
The import preserves completed seasons and reconciles the active one. EA becomes authoritative for matching games, results, rosters and statistics without losing agreements or video URLs.
Videos, tools and articles
YouTube and Twitch URLs feed On Demand collections using game and team data. Tools independent of rosters and statistics remain available; Gazette creates only content supported by recorded results.

One review, no duplicates
Green AI weeks can be approved and published directly, one at a time or in bulk. Red rows must be corrected in the editor. The manual editor always remains available, even after the image quota is exhausted, and rewrites the existing provisional week without duplicating it.
Companion flow
1. Copy the tournament URL
In the tournament manager you will find the dedicated Export URL. If you regenerate the code, you also need to update Companion with the new address.
2. Send data from Companion
Companion sends league info, roster data, calendar data, weekly stats, and other useful sections. Each send is stored as a tournament update.
3. Organize and process the data
The system merges useful data, discards empty or duplicate parts, and builds a coherent view for the tournament page and internal checks.
4. Check quality and coverage
After each submission, check that the update is complete and that schedules, rosters, and statistics are available. If something is missing, wait before sending more data.
PC save file flow
1. Upload the franchise/save file
From the tournament manager you can upload a Madden PC save file. The system checks file size and readability before parsing it.
2. Verify identity and safety
The parser extracts a tournament identity. If the file seems to belong to another tournament or is already linked to another import, the upload is blocked.
3. Import core tournament data
The save file fills season data, teams, player roster, and calendar matchups. This is useful when you work from a PC or want to recover data without using Companion.
4. Use Companion and PC together
If the identity check is positive, Companion and the PC file can coexist. This gives you more flexibility in keeping the tournament updated.
What to check after an update
Tournament identity check
Always check the identity status: verified, Companion only, PC file only, or missing. This prevents mixing data from different tournaments.
Data quality
Check calendar, roster, transactions, weekly stats, Companion coverage by week, and player-to-game linkage. If a week has scores but No stats, export Weekly Stats for that week again from Companion.
Diagnostics and support
The tournament manager shows update status and the available actions for recovering missing schedules or data. Use these tools only when the page reports a problem.
What if both players are unavailable?
The card returns to both players at the top of Invitations and Requests. Either can propose an STW (Sim to Win: simulated win) for themselves or the opponent, or Simulate without awarding a win. The other player must accept; you can decline and make a new proposal.
The default is 24 hours, but staff can change it per tournament in the Manager. The card shows the deadline; afterwards you can report a missing reply. This applies to American Football, Soccer and Basket, not Racing.
No. After both players agree, staff automatically receives a report in the home player's name identifying both players. In American Football the result comes from Companion; Soccer and Basket use the tournament's usual result process.

What counts in Football and when coaches change?
Matches played during the coach’s actual ownership of the team and positions earned count. A completed Super Bowl allows final achievements to be recognised. If the season closes earlier, earned positions count, without awarding an unplayed final or title.
How do strong opponents and few matches affect PR?
Facing stronger opponents increases the value of your performance. Their personal sport PR before the competition is used, without video bonuses. A perfect record over very few matches is less conclusive: you can still earn PR, with a cautious assessment of performance.
Where does the video bonus apply?
Valid YouTube and Twitch videos improve only federal qualification results, across all sports. In team sports the video relates to your own matches; in Racing, coverage of a heat benefits all its actual participants. Multiple URLs for the same match do not stack bonuses. Video coverage can add up to 35% to the federal result, in proportion to covered matches.
Does closing a tournament early remove PR and prizes?
No: valid achievements already earned can produce PR even if a tournament closes early through interruption or time expiry. Available prizes go to positions actually earned at closure, subject to tournament rules and resources. Unplayed matches do not create achievements.
