Use and Customization of FIDAF Teams
These rules govern the use of FIDAF teams within the Madden 27 tournament.
Each participant may select a real team competing in a FIDAF Tackle or Flag championship, provided that the team is included in the official list approved by the tournament staff. The NFL franchise used in the game must be customized to represent the selected FIDAF team.
To allow Ranko Universe to correctly identify the team and display the corresponding logo, each participant must use the exact official team name specified in the relevant section of these rules.
The NFL team selected in Madden will remain solely the technical foundation of the franchise. Its customization will therefore serve only a representative and visual purpose and will not affect the schedule, competition structure, or sporting rules established by the tournament staff.
The tournament will be played using the standard Franchise mode. At the beginning of the competition, an automatic Fantasy Draft will be conducted without any participant control. Its purpose will be to distribute players fairly and create balanced rosters that resemble those of a FIDAF championship.
Regional Composition of the Divisions
Whenever possible, Divisions will be organized according to geographical and regional criteria, with the aim of grouping participants from nearby areas within the same Division.
For example, the staff may place coaches residing in Sicily, Campania, or other southern regions in a Southern Division; participants residing in Lombardy or other northern regions in a Northern Division; and coaches residing in Rome, Lazio, or neighboring regions in a Central Division.
To allow the staff to apply this criterion correctly, every participant must provide their place of residence by completing the relevant field in their Ranko Universe profile accurately and truthfully. Failure to complete this information, or the submission of incomplete information, may result in the participant being assigned to a Division chosen directly by the staff.
The regional criterion is an organizational principle and does not guarantee placement in any specific Division. The final composition of the Divisions will depend on the number of registered participants, their geographical distribution, and the need to maintain a balanced tournament structure.
Participants residing abroad, coming from regions with limited representation, or who cannot easily be included in a geographical group may be assigned to mixed or general Divisions created to accommodate coaches from different areas.
The final decision regarding the composition of all Divisions will rest exclusively with the tournament staff.
Selection of the FIDAF Team
Each participant must select a team included in the FIDAF catalog approved by the league.
The catalog includes teams competing in the 2026 FIDAF Tackle and Flag championships, each associated with its official logo.
The selected team must be communicated to the staff through the dedicated reporting system provided by the league and available in the Ranko Universe sidebar.
Teams will not be assigned on an exclusive basis. Multiple coaches may therefore select and represent the same FIDAF team.
In the event of any doubt or discrepancy concerning a team’s official name, only the denomination included in the official list published by the staff will be considered valid. The complete list can be found in the final section of these rules.
Franchise Creation and Customization in Madden
Each participant must customize their franchise using all editable fields made available by the game, with the aim of representing the selected FIDAF team as accurately as possible.
Customization may include the team name, nickname, city or location, abbreviation, and official team colors, whenever these options are available.
Where Madden does not allow full customization, the participant must select a custom franchise whose colors, uniforms, or visual characteristics are as similar as possible to those of the FIDAF team being represented.
The main information used by Ranko Universe to identify a franchise is the team name exported through the Madden Companion App. To ensure that the franchise is correctly matched and that the appropriate logo is displayed, the name must correspond exactly to the official FIDAF denomination listed in the catalog or to one of the aliases expressly approved by the staff.
The use of different names, unauthorized abbreviations, or unrecognized denominations may prevent the logo from being matched correctly and must be corrected at the staff’s request.
Team Name to Use for the Logo
To facilitate the correct automatic recognition of the franchise by Ranko Universe, participants are advised to use the official FIDAF denomination listed in the league-approved catalog as their team name.
Examples of valid denominations include Rhinos Milano, Panthers Parma, Guelfi Firenze, Seamen Milano, Skorpions Varese, Warriors Bologna, Cardinals Palermo, and Raiders Roma.
The use of ambiguous abbreviations, invented names, incomplete denominations, or names that differ from those approved by the league may prevent the team from being recognized automatically and may consequently prevent the correct logo from being displayed.
In such cases, the staff may require the participant to correct the franchise name directly in the game or manually associate the team through the Ranko Universe administration panel.
Displaying FIDAF Logos on Ranko Universe
During data imports through the Madden Companion App, Ranko Universe will compare the customized franchise name with the denominations and aliases included in the league-approved FIDAF catalog.
Where the exported name is recognized correctly, Ranko Universe will associate the franchise with the corresponding FIDAF team and replace the default NFL logo with the appropriate FIDAF logo.
Where the name is not recognized, the system may continue to display the original NFL franchise logo or may not display any customized logo.
The correct FIDAF logo will be restored after the team name has been corrected or after the staff has manually completed the association through the administration panel.
Participants Representing the Same FIDAF Team
Multiple participants may select and represent the same FIDAF team. In such cases, the displayed logo will remain the same for all affected franchises because it identifies the real team being represented rather than the individual participant.
Franchises representing the same team will be distinguished through a unique identification code assigned to the participant or franchise. For example, denominations such as Rhinos Milano #07 and Rhinos Milano #24 may be used.
The selected identification code or number must be communicated to the staff in advance and must not already be in use by another participant.
Duplicate entries must not be created in the FIDAF catalog using denominations such as Rhinos Milano 1, Rhinos Milano 2, or other numbered variants treated as separate teams.
All franchises must remain associated with the single official Rhinos Milano catalog entry. The identification code must be used solely to distinguish between the different participants representing that team.
Staff Checks and Interventions
After each data import through the Madden Companion App, the staff may verify that the franchises have been correctly recognized by Ranko Universe and associated with the appropriate FIDAF logos.
In the event of failed recognition, an incorrect association, or a missing logo, the staff may require the participant to correct the team denomination directly in the game. Alternatively, the staff may manually associate the franchise with the correct FIDAF catalog entry through the administration panel.
Manual interventions will be permitted exclusively to resolve technical problems, import errors, spelling differences, or other inconsistencies that prevent the team from being recognized correctly.
Under no circumstances may such interventions be used to assign a franchise a logo belonging to a FIDAF team other than the one actually selected and declared by the participant.
Changing the FIDAF Team During the Tournament
Changing the selected FIDAF team during the tournament will be permitted only with prior authorization from the staff.
Once the competition has started, the team denomination, logo, and all other elements of the franchise’s visual identity must remain unchanged to ensure continuity and clarity across the schedule, standings, statistics, and content published by the league.
Any request for a change must be properly justified and will be evaluated by the staff.
Without explicit authorization, the participant must continue to use the FIDAF team selected and communicated before the beginning of the tournament.
Errors, Reports, and Unforeseen Circumstances
Any import errors, unrecognized denominations, missing logos, incorrect associations, or other circumstances not expressly covered by these rules must be reported to the staff through the Report function available on the Ranko Universe dashboard.
The staff will assess each case and may require the participant to make the necessary changes or intervene directly through the platform’s administration tools.
The final decision regarding the association between the franchise used in Madden, the FIDAF team being represented, and the logo displayed on Ranko Universe will rest with the staff.
All decisions will be made with the aim of ensuring consistent application of the rules, transparency in the management of the tournament, and equal treatment of all participants.
