IML Rules — Market, Contracts and Roster
Italian Madden League
These rules supplement the IML General Rules and apply to league Madden tournaments unless tournament-specific rules publish an exception. The official tools are the Ranko Universe Madden Trade Analyzer and Report.
Superstar and X-Factor re-signings
During each season, a team may re-sign no more than two players in total with Superstar or X-Factor Development Trait. The limit is combined: for example, two Superstars or one Superstar and one X-Factor.
Custom contract duration
A custom contract may not extend beyond the final season planned on the Madden title used by the league. Its maximum length depends on the current season and the number of seasons remaining on that title. If two seasons remain, the maximum contract length is two seasons.
Fifth Year Options and restructures
Fifth Year Options and contract restructures are allowed within the game’s limits. Bugs, abnormal procedures or combined transactions intended to circumvent the Salary Cap or obtain an unintended advantage are prohibited. Abnormal conduct may be submitted through Report.
Trades and Madden Trade Analyzer
Trades are allowed subject to these rules. Before trading, coaches may use the Ranko Universe Madden Trade Analyzer to evaluate players, Draft Picks, age, Development Trait, contracts, league horizon, balance and risk signals.
The Analyzer is informational and is not prior staff approval. A trade is completed and valid only after it has been accepted and executed on console. Collusion, deliberate value transfers, abandonment, exploits or rule circumvention may be submitted through Report with a saved analysis and evidence. Staff may act even after console acceptance.
First-round pick limit
A team may hold no more than three first-round picks at the same time, regardless of Draft season. Any excess must be resolved through another trade by the staff deadline.
Release restrictions
After Week 13, players rated 80 OVR or higher may not be released. A coach with a specific need must first use Report, identifying the player, OVR, reason, roster situation and any technical or contractual issue. The release may occur only after staff approval.
Checks and penalties
Violations must be submitted through Report with available evidence: transaction, contract, roster, player, teams, week, Trade Analyzer result and description.
Staff may dismiss the report, issue a warning, order a correction, release or return of assets, restrict market access, reduce Power Ranking or impose other sporting measures. Repeat offenses follow the progressive IML system.
