What changes between iOS, Android, and desktop
The direct shortcut exists on every platform, but the way it is installed and opened changes depending on the device.
iPhone and iPad with Safari
On iPhone and iPad the full install flow goes through Safari. There is no automatic popup like on desktop: use Share and then Add to Home Screen.
iPhone and iPad with other browsers
On iOS and iPadOS you can browse with Chrome or other browsers, but to install the app correctly it is better to open the site in Safari and finish the flow there.
Android
On Android you will often see the Install app prompt. If it does not appear, open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Desktop
On desktop, compatible browsers can show the install prompt or the Install icon in the address bar and open the app in a separate window.
Steps on iPhone and iPad with Safari
This is the most reliable path on iOS and iPadOS when you want the app icon on the device.
- Open Ranko Universe in Safari.
- Tap Share and then Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and open the icon directly from the Home Screen.
If you are on Chrome or another iOS browser
On iPhone and iPad, other browsers do not offer the same full PWA flow you get on desktop or Android.
- Open the same page in Safari.
- In Safari tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Use the new Home Screen icon to open the app faster.
Steps on Android
On Android the browser may offer installation automatically or from its own menu.
- Tap Install app if the prompt appears.
- If the prompt does not appear, open the browser menu.
- Choose Install app or Add to Home screen and confirm.
Steps on desktop
On computer the app behaves more like a real installed app in a window separate from the usual browser tab.
- Open Ranko Universe in a compatible browser such as Chrome or Edge.
- Use the install prompt or the Install icon in the address bar.
- Confirm to open the app in a standalone window.
