The NBA Is Back in MyTEAM
NBA 2K27’s Greatness Series brings new packs, Exchanges and Challenges, alongside a new Magma Tier.
The season has its own ledger in NBA 2K27. In an announcement published on Steam on October 23, 2026, the game’s official account said the Greatness Series: NBA is Back packs, Exchanges and Challenges were live in MyTEAM.
The announcement also introduces an all-new Magma Tier and invites players to add top NBA talent. It does not specify which players are included or provide further details about the content.
What the announcement confirms
NBA 2K27’s Steam News post describes the NBA season as being in full effect and says stars are appearing in MyTEAM. The confirmed offering is a set of live packs, Exchanges and Challenges under the Greatness Series: NBA is Back, plus the new Magma Tier.
That gives MyTEAM players a fresh set of in-game avenues to pursue NBA talent. The announcement, however, does not state pack contents, Exchange requirements, Challenge rewards or how the Magma Tier works. Those entries remain blank in the public account supplied here; filling them in would be speculation.
A modest update, not a blank cheque
For players, the practical news is availability: the named MyTEAM content is live, according to the official NBA 2K27 post. For tournament organizers and streamers, the new tier and content could provide material to follow or discuss, but the announcement makes no claims about competitive effects, player interest or viewing figures.
A little bookkeeping is warranted. “Add top NBA talent” is the publisher’s promotional framing, not a detailed inventory of what players can obtain. The black book need not record a breach where none is documented; it can simply note that the announcement leaves important particulars undisclosed.
The accounting, for now
The available facts support a straightforward conclusion: NBA 2K27 has activated a MyTEAM series tied to the NBA season, with packs, Exchanges, Challenges and a new Magma Tier. Whether the tier or its associated content changes how players build their teams cannot be assessed from this announcement alone.
