Auburn (17–15) trailed 33–30 at halftime before dominating the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 47–28. Overton sparked the turnaround with six 3-pointers and five assists, including 15 points in the final 20 minutes as the Tigers found their rhythm from beyond the arc. KeShawn Murphy added 15 points and nine rebounds for Auburn, while Keyshawn Hall scored 14 and Tahaad Pettiford chipped in 11. The Tigers gradually seized control midway through the second half when Overton knocked down consecutive 3-pointers to stretch the lead into multiple possessions before Auburn pushed the margin into double digits late. Mississippi State (13–19) was led by Josh Hubbard’s 22 points on 8-of-25 shooting, while Jayden Epps added 14. The loss ends the Bulldogs’ streak of three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
