Madden NFL 27 Franchise: Fantasy Draft Guide

Fantasy Draft replaces the normal starting rosters with a full draft of existing NFL players. Every team builds a new roster before the Franchise season begins. This is different from the annual NFL Draft in Franchise, which is focused on incoming rookies.

Enter Franchise, create a new league, choose your initial team and league settings, and select the Fantasy Draft option when it is offered during setup before the season starts. Do not rank players by OVR alone. Age, development, contract, position value, and fit with your style all matter in a long Franchise. Quarterback, pass rush, offensive line, cornerback, and offensive playmakers can become roster anchors, but the best priority order depends on league settings and your competitive window.

Use early rounds for players who can define the roster for several seasons, middle rounds for depth and positional balance, and later rounds for specialists, young upside, and scheme roles. Keep alternate targets ready because your preferred player may be taken before your pick.

Review the Depth Chart, scheme, playbook, and positional depth. The drafted roster becomes the base of the Franchise, so contracts, trades, free agency, scouting, and future rookie Drafts continue from there. In multiplayer leagues, agree on trade, advance, CPU-game, and disconnect rules before Week 1.
