Emilia-Romagna won the Trofeo CONI 2026 flag football tournament, defeating Lombardia 57–14 in the championship game on October 6, 2026, in Castellaneta Marina, Italy. According to the Italian Federation of American Football (FIDAF), Sicilia claimed third place with a 27–12 win over Marche. Lombardia’s runner-up finish also contributed to its region’s first-place result in the overall Trofeo CONI standings. The competition brought together 13 regional teams for two days of play at Centro Sportivo D’Onghia. Teams first played four Swiss-system qualification rounds, with the pairings based on results. Semifinals and placement games followed on the second day. Emilia-Romagna reached the final by beating Marche 35–13 in a semifinal. Lombardia advanced with a 20–12 victory over Sicilia. In the final, Emilia-Romagna finished first and Lombardia second; Sicilia beat Marche in the bronze-medal game. FIDAF reported the final order as: 1. Emilia-Romagna; 2. Lombardia; 3. Sicilia; 4. Marche; 5. Toscana; 6. Puglia; 7. Friuli Venezia Giulia; 8. Lazio; 9. Piemonte; 10. Sardegna; 11. Liguria; 12. Calabria; 13. Campania. Toscana took fifth place with a 33–30 win over Puglia. Friuli Venezia Giulia beat Lazio 20–18 for seventh, and Piemonte defeated Sardegna 31–0 for ninth. Liguria finished 11th after beating Calabria 20–6. Lombardia’s second-place finish in flag football contributed points to its overall Trofeo CONI victory, FIDAF reported. The regional delegation finished first with 112 points, ahead of Emilia-Romagna on 108 and Lazio on 106. The result gave Lombardia the overall title for the second consecutive year. FIDAF also noted that the 13 flag football teams represented one more region than in the 2025 edition. The 2026 tournament ended with Emilia-Romagna atop the flag football standings and Lombardia adding to its overall Trofeo CONI success.
