FC 27 on PC: fixes are coming, but key problems remain

FC 27’s PC launch has a familiar problem: a game can look encouraging in overall data and still feel rough for the players dealing with stutters, frame-rate drops or crashes. EA says it is monitoring reports and investigating several performance and stability issues.

In a September 30 announcement on Steam, the FC 27 PC Development Team said some crash fixes are already included in Title Update v.1.0.1. That is progress, not a clean bill of health: the team says other problems remain under investigation.

The trouble spots are specific

EA says players have reported frame-rate drops, micro-stutters and instability during certain cutscenes and stadium sequences, particularly around set pieces. It is also investigating stuttering, input delay and frame-rate instability across a range of PC hardware. That range matters: the announcement does not point to one single configuration as the culprit.

The team has also identified performance degradation when Cloth Quality is set to Medium, and cases where Frame Rate Limit settings do not apply correctly after players switch monitors. These are the sort of concrete faults that deserve a fix, not a shrug. But EA has not yet said that either has been resolved.

The Grounds and a late-October target

EA says a smaller number of players have reported frame-rate drops, loading issues and getting stuck in The Grounds. That makes this a narrower reported problem, not one the announcement presents as universal.

Several PC-specific quality improvements are targeted for a late October update: extra camera tuning for mouse controls; a fix for mouse controls becoming unresponsive in “Be a Goalie” when the goalkeeper moves outside the box; a fix for persistent vibration on Xbox Elite Series controllers; and a fix for flashing during the FUT match intro loading screen. “Targeted” is the key word. EA has not confirmed these fixes are already live.

A launch still being judged

For PC players, unstable performance can make a match harder to read and inputs less dependable. That is a practical concern for anyone playing competitively or streaming: stutters and control issues can disrupt play and the viewing experience. The announcement does not provide tournament-specific findings, nor does it quantify how many players are affected.

The useful part of EA’s update is its list of issues and its confirmation that crash fixes have shipped. The frustrating part is that several central performance problems are still being investigated. Until EA validates and releases fixes, the verdict is simple: the response is underway, but the PC experience is not yet beyond question.
