Aston Martin arrives in Automobilista 2

The headline addition in V1.6.6 is Aston Martin’s debut in Automobilista 2. The Endurance Pack Pt3 DLC adds four Aston Martin cars: the Valkyrie Hypercar for the GTP / LMDh class, the GT3 Evo for the GTD / GT3 Gen2 class, the GT4 Evo for the GT4 class, and the GTE for the GTE class.

The same DLC also adds the Alpine A110 GT4 Evo to the GT4 class and the Ligier JS2-R to the Ligier European Series class, expanding the game’s endurance and GT lineup for race organizers and league racers who rely on class variety.

Nürburgring 2025 joins the track roster

The update also introduces Nürburgring 2025, described in the Steam post as a brand new version of the famous Green Hell. The DLC includes the Nordschleife and Grand Prix layouts, along with other variations.

For players, the addition matters because the Nürburgring remains one of the most important endurance and club-racing circuits in sim racing. For tournaments and leagues, the new version adds another official venue option built into the latest game branch.

Multiplayer stability and session fixes

Among the general changes, the update fixes one case of a session getting stuck at the end of qualifying or practice in multiplayer. It also optimizes packet transfer during host migration and around the end of multiplayer sessions to reduce the chance of mass disconnections or mass lag at those moments.

The patch also prevents AI cars from using the same pit box and garage as the player in single-player mode. On the interface side, it fixes the weather selection dialog not correctly activating for some weather types.

Physics, AI and force feedback adjustments

The changelog notes minor tread friction adjustments for several car groups, including Stock Car Brasil seasons, Copa Montana, Super V8, Sprint Race, Copa Classics, Mini Challenge and Lancer Cup. It also lists further tread adjustments for LMDh / GTP, LMP2 in both generations, DPi, P1, GT3 in both generations, GT4, GT Open and Lambo Super Trofeo.

On the AI side, the update changes fuel-amount logic for race grids and pitstops, improves fuel-pit decisions, fixes an issue that could make the AI pit on the final lap, and corrects some interclass pit-strategy threshold inconsistencies in endurance classes. Additional AI changes affect cold-tire performance, lateral movement rates and brake usage in selected categories.

Force feedback receives a fix as well, with improved accuracy in steering axis torque arm calculation. The patch also adds an option to disable collisions with dynamic trackside objects and updates the tarmac shader for more realistic fresnel reflection behavior.

Audio, HUD and circuit updates

Audio changes include a suspension and chassis sound effect, fixes for stereo engine audio issues in bumper, bonnet and roof cameras, and a correction for the 'Show helmet' option when helmet camera view is used. The BMW M4 GT3 also gets a small interior engine sound offset fix.

Track-side revisions are also included. Nurburgring 2020 receives a complete 3D mesh and art overhaul across all layouts. Mosport gets a terrain gap fixed near pit exit, Termas Rio Hondo loses an unwanted next-lap penalty when cutting the final corner, and Jacarepagua Historic sees adjustments to the fast line path at Curva Sul T6 and Lagoa T9.

These changes matter to streamers and league administrators because visual updates, audio corrections and race logic fixes can influence broadcast quality, replay clarity and event consistency. For players, they also point to a patch that is not limited to new content alone.

How the DLC rollout works

The official announcement says the contents of the new DLC will have a free trial period so all users can try them and decide whether to buy. After Friday August 1, the DLC content is expected to become restricted to owners of the respective packages.

For users who encounter problems with V1.6.6, or who still need to run a league race on the older version, the post says Automobilista 2 can remain on V1.6.5.2 through Steam’s beta branch by right-clicking the game in the library, choosing Properties, then Beta, and selecting the previousbuild branch.
