iRacing Season 4 Patch 2 adds AI racing and fixes

AI racing and audio updates

The Dallara IL15 is now enabled for AI racing. This gives players using the simulator’s AI racing feature another supported car, although the supplied release notes do not provide further details about eligible series, events or configurations.

The patch also adds the latest Italian spotter pack. For streamers and competitive players, that is a confirmed audio-content update, while the notes do not specify the pack’s exact changes or availability settings.

Graphics, physics and server fixes

The release fixes an AMD FSR issue that prevented the viewport from being calculated correctly in non-VR use. iRacing says the new FSR interface is now centered and responds properly to mouse input when FSR is enabled. However, the notes explicitly state that AMD FSR is still not functioning correctly in VR.

Eye-tracking issues for Pimax are also addressed. On the physics side, iRacing updated engine-power correction so power-unit outputs are more in line with reality at high-altitude tracks such as Mexico City, according to the release notes.

Race-server stability receives a targeted fix for a crash that occurred when switching from a Practice server to a Race server. This is particularly relevant to organized sessions, where server transitions can be part of an event workflow, but the notes do not report broader server-performance changes.

Interface and setup improvements

The patch contains numerous user-interface fixes. These include correcting overlapping buttons in the Session Screen after spotting in practice, improving Camera Tool sliders, adding expand/collapse functionality, correcting the wind-direction arrow and fixing QuickChat saving.

Garage and Camera file dialogs now correctly show directory contents when file paths contain characters outside a user’s default locale. Other changes address setup resets, exported Garage setup dropdown values, missing spotter settings, chat text being cut off, Results-tab alignment and scrolling, and crashes linked to specific time-zone and regional-format combinations.

The release also adds an Official/Unofficial flag beside certain sessions and removes the word “Sector” from the Splits display to make it more compact. These changes may help players and broadcasters read session information more consistently, though the official notes do not quantify their impact.

Car-specific changes

The GTP hybrid code was adjusted so every GTP car and the Ferrari 499P have equivalent hybrid-assisted fuel economy. Additional fixes cover the Acura ARX-06 GTP, Acura NSX GT3 EVO 22, Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO, Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and BMW M Hybrid V8.

Among the listed changes, the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO receives increased engine torque and updated iRacing setups. The BMW M Hybrid V8’s traction-control labels were renamed to TCLON and TCLAT to match its in-car display, with a related mapping fix for the in-car controls.
