iRacing 2025 Season 3 Patch 1 adds connection black flags and night lighting
Release 2025.06.12.02 delivers fixes across the simulation, cars, tracks and Paint Kit.
iRacing has released its 2025 Season 3 Patch 1, identified as release 2025.06.12.02. According to the official iRacing — Steam News release, the patch contains updates and fixes for the 2025 Season 3 release.
Among the most notable changes, Hosted Sessions can now use the Connection Black Flag rule. When enabled, the rule functions as it does in Official Sessions: drivers with intermittent or unstable connections may receive a black flag and be sent to the pits until their connection improves.
Connectivity, AI and graphics
The update fixes an issue in which AI drivers could become unresponsive after remaining on gravel or mud surfaces for too long. It also addresses visual artifacts caused by some three-dimensional curbs being rendered at an unnecessarily low level of detail based on camera distance. The official notes identify The Bend as a location where this was especially noticeable.
For hosted-race organizers, the new Connection Black Flag option provides an additional server-side control for managing unstable connections. That is a confirmed feature of the patch; its practical effect on individual events will depend on whether organizers enable it.
Cars receive setup and handling changes
Ride-height rules are now specific to each available tire type for the GTP Series cars, Touring Series cars, BMW M2 CSR, Global Mazda MX-5 Cup, Renault Clio R.S. V, Super Formula Lights and Toyota GR86. iRacing setups were also updated for the GTP Series, NASCAR Cup Series Gen 7, Ferrari 296 Challenge, Mercedes-AMG W12 E Performance and Renault Clio R.S. V.
The Toyota GR86 receives an improvement to braking stability. The Audi RS 3 LMS TCR handbrake has been moved from the rear brakes to the front brakes for use as a standing-start aid, while a Touring Series standing-start issue that could allow cars to roll from their stalls has been fixed. Other listed changes include Ferrari 296 Challenge front-camber and paint-scheme updates, plus display corrections for the BMW M Hybrid V8 and Dallara IR18.
Track presentation updates
Night lighting has been enabled at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta), Iowa Speedway, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and Martinsville Speedway. Bristol Motor Speedway gains a second functional scoreboard in the front grandstand, while other track fixes address crowds, flagpoles, pit-light halo support and related visual details.
The Paint Kit also receives two camera fixes: improved centering for Helmet and Firesuit views, and a correction preventing the camera pitch from resetting when a new car is loaded.
