Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was ruled out of the team’s Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, according to the NFL.

Head coach Jesse Minter announced the decision, and Tyler Huntley will start at quarterback for Baltimore in Sunday night’s game.

Jackson’s ankle injury

Jackson injured his ankle during Baltimore’s Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. He did not participate in practice during the week leading up to the Falcons game.

The NFL’s report cited an earlier assessment from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that Jackson had not sustained a long-term injury, while noting that his chances of playing in Week 5 were slim.

Huntley takes over

Huntley will make his 12th start for the Ravens, according to the NFL report. Jackson’s absence leaves the question of how much time he may miss beyond the Falcons game unresolved.

Hendrickson also ruled out

Minter also ruled out defensive end Trey Hendrickson for Week 5 because of a finger injury, the NFL reported.
