BAFA opens Hall of Fame nominations for 2026
Players, coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers from across the game may be nominated under the published criteria.
The British American Football Association (BAFA) announced on 7 October 2026 that nominations were open for its Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
Nominations must be emailed to heritage@britishamericanfootball.org before midnight on Sunday, 1 November, according to BAFA.
Who can be nominated
BAFA says nominees of any gender may have been involved in adult, junior, youth, flag or university leagues as players, coaches, officials, administrators or volunteers. Non-British nationals who have made a significant contribution to British American football may also be nominated.
Players must have been retired for at least five years to qualify, while officials must no longer be active. Nominees in other categories, including coaches, administrators and volunteers, may still be active.
Updated coaching eligibility
BAFA says a former player who is currently coaching can be nominated as a player. It also reports that, following feedback from the Britball community and consideration by the Hall of Fame committee, active coaches may now be considered for induction.
Newsroom
The nomination deadline is midnight on Sunday, 1 November 2026. BAFA asks nominators to submit their entries by email to heritage@britishamericanfootball.org.
