Version 8.0.111 Tightens Story and Colosseum Play
The update adjusts match tips, fixes a cluster of gameplay and interface issues, and adds notices for newly unlocked content.
A run of fixes arrives in The Spike Cross with version 8.0.111. The notes focus on the moments where small problems can interrupt play: tutorial text, a stacking player trait, an ability effect in Colosseum and settings that failed to reach some sound effects.
The update notes were published on Steam News. They also describe adjustments to Story Mode and new pop-ups for unlocked content, alongside fixes for errors and delayed interface updates.
Match guidance and trait fixes
The terminology shown in Story Mode Chapter 1 tips has changed: “Shield Button” is now “Feint Button” and “Block Button.” The patch also fixes tutorial text that could be cut off at some screen resolutions.
Han Gitae’s “Intimidation” trait receives two corrections. According to the notes, it could stack multiple times from a single block, and it was incorrectly treated as an active trait when interacting with some Dream Shards. The fixes target behavior that could make the trait work differently than intended.
Colosseum, sound and interface
In Colosseum, the “Snow Storm” Ability Card effect no longer speeds up each time a receive is made. The update also fixes a delayed interface refresh when players use V Points during Ability Card selection.
Several sound-volume issues are addressed: the setting now applies to effects during Player Recruitment, background-music previews and the moment a spike target appears during a match. Elsewhere, the patch fixes a possible error from pressing multiple shortcut keys at once in Manage Players and an unexpected game closure when opening Profile Customization before the League Best Record had loaded.
The Background Selection pop-up in Practice Matches has also received a performance improvement. The notes do not provide performance measurements, so the scale of that improvement is unspecified.
Story updates and player impact
Story Mode receives several targeted changes. Some dialogue and background music in Chapter 13 are corrected, Side Stories and Special Episodes get improved text, and difficulty names on the Elite Stage entry tab are fixed. Gitae’s Player Recruitment screen now plays its special cutscene automatically.
New pop-ups will notify players when content or stories become available. For players moving between modes, clearer unlock notices and corrected guidance may make progression easier to follow; for streamers, the fixes to cut-off tutorial text and mismatched Chapter 13 audio or dialogue may reduce distractions during those sections. These are practical implications of the listed changes, not claims about measured results.
The official Steam News notes close by saying the team will continue working toward a better and smoother game experience. They do not specify a download size or platform rollout schedule.
