The Frogs 65ers became Italian flag football champions on 20 September 2026, beating Mad Dogs Milano 32–21 in the Scudetto final at Mike Wyatt Field in Ferrara.

According to the Italian Federation of American Football (FIDAF), the victory completed an unbeaten championship campaign for the team formed through the union of Frogs Legnano and Arona 65ers.

A hard-fought route to the final

The Frogs finished first in Group A at the Final Bowl with three wins, defeating Skorpions Varese 38–27, Raiders Roma 42–24 and Refoli Trieste 36–22.

In the semifinals, the Frogs edged defending champions Panthers Parma 34–33. Mad Dogs Milano reached the final by beating Giaguari Torino 13–12, also by a single point.

Frogs take the title; Panthers earn bronze

The final set up a Lombardy derby between the Frogs and Mad Dogs. The Frogs won 32–21, while Mad Dogs finished second for the third consecutive season.

Panthers Parma claimed third place with a 33–32 win over Giaguari Torino. The Panthers had been Italian champions before the tournament, according to FIDAF.

A first title for the combined project

The championship was the first for the Frogs 65ers project. FIDAF noted that the squad included a core of athletes from Arona, whose club had won Italian national titles in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024.

Mad Dogs, described by FIDAF as a young team that included players born in 2006, 2007 and 2008, reached its third straight final and collected a third consecutive silver medal.
